BLACKPINK broke the record of the most watched K-Pop MV in the first 24 hours with ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’

On July 5th, according to a spokesperson from YouTube, BLACKPINK’s latest comeback, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is now the most watched K-Pop music video in the first 24 hours and the biggest in 2018.

To clarify the record, the spokesperson from YouTube stated that “BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ received over 36.2 million views in its first 24 hours, making it the biggest 24-hour debut of 2018.”

BLACKPINK beat the record that labelmate Psy held with ‘Gentleman’ that had 36 million views in the first 24 hours, as well as BTS with ‘Fake Love’ which recorded 35.9 million. 

BLACKPINK is behind Taylor Swift in the most watched MV in the first 24 hours of all time, with the record being 43.2 million views by Taylor Swift with ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ music video.
